"Everything I Know About Procurement I Learned in Wood Shop"

Make plans to attend this unique perspective on how everyone, whether in the private or public sector, evolves and learns to adapt in the ever changing environment to effectively get the job done!

Most of us came to the supply chain profession with diverse backgrounds and education often unrelated to the profession. That means that many of us have had the experience of seeing how the skills, abilities, understanding, and experiences we gained from other areas have translated into understanding which helped us as purchasing professionals. No learning or experience is ever wasted and much learning and understanding that we gain in one area of our lives can prove valuable in others areas in sometimes unforeseen ways.

Speaker: J. Kevin Beardsley, C.P.P.O, C.P.P.B, Director of Purchasing, Virginia Beach City Public Schools

Kevin Beardsley has been with Virginia Beach City Public schools for over 30 years. He began with VBCPS as a Procurement Specialist, and has spent the last 23 years as Director of Purchasing.
