"Annual Economic Forecast"

Dr. Walker will lead a discussion of the Old Dominion University 2019 Regional Economic Forecast, as prepared by the Dragas Center for Economic Analysis and Policy. Specific attention will be given in detailing 2018 economic performance in the regional and national economy, defense, labor market, residential housing market in Hampton Roads, taxable sales and hotel revenue, port and cargo traffic as well as forecasted 2019 activity. 

Speaker - Jay K. Walker, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Economics, Old Dominion University

Dr. Walker received his B.S. in Economics and Finance from Arkansas Tech University and a MBA from the University of Mississippi. For five years after receiving his MBA he worked professionally as an analyst in the insurance and retail industries. Following the receipt of a PhD in Economics from the University of Memphis in 2012 he spent five years in western New York State at Niagara University where he coordinated the Buffalo-Niagara Manufacturing survey on behalf of the ISM-Buffalo chapter. He joined Old Dominion University in the fall 2017 semester where he serves as an assistant professor of economics and a fellow in the Dragas Center for Economic Analysis and Policy.

Dinner - Chicken with picatta sauce, salad, rice, vegetable and chocolate cake.  Includes choice of soft drink, tea, or water.  Vegetarian option available upon request.
